I thought it was a reference to this:So it could just be a reference to some sort of scifi device, maybe a new career reward. But t could also be a reference to Seasons. Not sure how I feel about the aliens in Seasons yet again.
Sounds too close to Sims 3 Seasons.I want Sims 4 to stand on its own legs!I'm really worried about how seasons are gonna work with rotational play. Rotational play and the art style are why I like Sims 4 so much better than Sims 3, if they ruin that for me they can go f. themselves. Also, I hope to god this 'frozen' thing has nothing to do with that disney filmThis should be 'I hope to Twallan this 'frozen' thing has nothing to do with that disney film.' Well he's the deity of choice in my sims 3 households so it stands to reason that he holds that position in the mythical memory of my sims 4 sims:PHail Twallan full of mods, the Master Controller is with thee.Blessed art thou amongst modders, and blessed is the fruit of thy computer.Holy Twallan, father of Master Controller, pray for us Simmies now until the hour of our death,Be it in a walled up room or in a fiery inferno caused by that cheap and nasty stove we own.Asim. Seasons, while I do want it at some point, is honestly the last EP I'm concerned about right now.
The items and activities that came with them were a great addition but the weather and seasons themselves had a very small impact on both TS2 and TS3 for me.In TS2 it was a nice and I appreciated all of the old fashioned objects and interactions that came with it but the only seasons that really mattered were summer and winter. It also rained entirely too much! I've given up counting but at one point in my game, I was getting rain like 2 to 3 times a day for a whole week (which really puts a damper on a world where the days are 24 minutes long).
Meanwhile, I rarely got any snow.well I should rephrase that. It snowed just as often as it rained but more often than not, I only got a very light layer of it on the grass.TS3 did a good job of making all four seasons matter. The holidays were a great touch and the aliens were welcome back with open arms. But (pretty much like TS3&4 in general) it lacked a lot of the charm that its predecessor had since the focus was no longer being on home and family life. In addition to that, It also had the misfortune of being one of the buggiest expansions in the TS3 series.
Trick or treaters in the spring and summer. Aliens that either never show up when you want them to or ALWAYS show up when you don't want them to (And they never abduct the person you want them to abduct.

What was the point of my sim collecting all those space rocks and looking into the telescope all day if they were gonna abduct his mother? She wasn't even the closest one to the 'mysterious light') Sims being frozen in place on the skating rinks, resulting in 10 sims being stuck on the same tile. Sims changing into their outerwear when they go outside, regardless of what season it is. None of these were ever fixed, by the way. The Alien one couldn't even really be fixed with mods. The EP had a lot of potential but fell flat on its ass because of the general laziness when it came to everything in TS3.
And I'm not even gonna get into how this was the EP that introduced the bald hairstyle (this came out near the end of TS3's run btw) and how it almost wasn't in the game at all because only one guru thought it was a good idea.all the bald people in the world and you chose to wait this long to introduce a bald hairstyle in your life simulator. This is why I'm not excited about a Seasons expansion for TS4 (or Pets for that matter). My experiences with the other two versions have ranged from mediocre to downright horrible. While I do agree that weather (at least rain.as long as it doesn't happen every damn day) should be introduced, it's still the last thing on my list of things that TS4 needs right now. Let's get that one family EP out of the way first because lord knows they wont do what TS2 did and make every expansion have a bit of family life in it.
Then the Town/City EP because the town life we have now is not cutting it. Then I'll worry about pets and weather. After that, we can have the fun stuff like supernaturals and elaborate vacations but let's prioritize the EPs for once. I don't want Seasons. They were a welcome variation in Sims2, because otherwise the light came up suddenly at seven in the morning, and went down suddenly at seven in the evening. Otherwise nothing changed.
The light always came from the same direction. The seasons were an interesting variation.I know the developers had trouble covering everything with snow - changing the weather was not easy.
In Sims4, I think, it would be impossible. The present scenery is so much more active. The sun moves across the sky, the tree shadows shimmer and swing across the view, the light fades and grows gradually. Imposing weather effects on all this would be desperately difficult. My sims enjoy perpetual good weather. They can have the chess set out on the lawn; their fountains never freeze up; they do not need to change into outerwear before venturing forth. I enjoy the present sims climate, and do not want it to change.

Imposing weather effects on all this would be desperately difficult.Um. All those actually are in Sims 3. Hit the Tab button and look up, you'll see the sun move across the sky. You do see trees move with the wind and the shadows shimmer etc. Lights fades and grows gradually. Well, I don't know what level you have your settings on, but on the highest setting, all those are there.Edit - Oh, I notice you only mentioned Sims 2.
Yeah, Sims 2 doesn't have those. (At least I don't think so, but maybe I should check.
Someone wrote a dynamic shadow mod, which would only work if there was actually a sun in the sky that moves) But they already did it in Sims 3 with those dynamic backgrounds so they can easily do it in Sims 4. I don't think 'frozen' refers to a season. It sounds more like a thing aliens can do to sims to abduct them. If this is really a 'super-crazy-weird'-alien-expansion pack, i'll finally be able to overcome my 'New stuff!! Get it, get it!!' -attitude.If this is really a hint for a season expansion just because aliens somehow belong into the season EP (never quite understood how they're related though), than the gurus finally understood that now is the time for the 'Great 2 Expansions' (pets and seasons) to rescue TS4.
Um.Sims 3 weather was controlled by me. Well really Twallan's Tempest mod was simgod send. I set some really good balances with the rain, where it was a light rain in the am and if I wanted a couple of downpours, those happened late in the night. I fell in love with that mod when Midnight Hollow was released and having the fog on in the mornings and night.

Made the world really gloomy but I loved it.I don't see anything wonderful like that happening in Sims 4. I don't think that team will have it in them to add in the game, different temps, atmosphere, scenery. I wonder if the game engine could handle it? I don't think 'frozen' refers to a season. The rocket and careers that would 'support' such a thing are already in place. I also didn't understand how they made the connection of aliens and seasons in TS3. When seasons came out for TS3, aliens were immediately modded out. I spent the time learning how to make tuning mods as there was no way they were going to be in my game.As already mentioned, Twallan's Tempest is one of the coolest things aside from all of Twallan's other mods. I discovered the awesomeness of Tempest last year out of hatred of the constant leaf litter that never went away.
I love fall both in real life and in game, but the friggn' leaves would never leave. At least in real life they can be chopped up with the lawn mower which results in free food for the lawn.
